Here is a list of some of the most common materials we get asked about that we do not use as ingredients in any of our formulated products (health care, skin and personal cleansing, hair care, laundry, home care, and oral care)

  • Alkylphenols and alkylphenol ethoxylates

  • Heavy metals: Arsenic, Lead, Chromium VI, Mercury, Cadmium, Nickel

  • Organotins (TBT, DBT, MBT, DOT)
  • PVC (not in formulas*)
  • PAHs (Polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons)
  • PCBs (Polychlorinated biphenyls)
  • Phthalates**
  • Triclosan
  • Triclocarban**

We have strict product safety limits in place when any of these materials could be found in tiny amounts due to their natural (or background) presence in water, the environment, or as part of the manufacturing process.

* We do not use BPA or PVC in any of our product formulas. Our use of PVC and BPA is restricted to very small amounts in some product packaging like pressurized aerosol cans or electrical devices where their unique performance is essential for product safety. We will consider new material options as soon as they do arise.

** We do not use these ingredients in new products and are exiting them.

Reliable, Effective, and Easy to Use
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I’ve used Tide Original liquid detergent for years, and this bottle is exactly what I expect from the brand: dependable cleaning power in a simple, straightforward package. The 40 fl oz size is convenient to store and lightweight enough to handle easily, and the built-in measuring cap (with clearly marked fill lines) makes it simple to use the right amount for each load. The detergent performs really well on everyday laundry—clothes come out smelling fresh without being overpowering, and stains lift noticeably better than with many budget detergents. The formula works great in HE washers too, which helps reduce suds and keeps cycles efficient. Overall, it’s a solid, trustworthy detergent that delivers consistent results. If you want something that cleans well without fuss, Tide Original is hard to beat.

This is a Tide-only household
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I don't remember when the shift happened, but at some point in the past my family selected Tide as the only detergent for us. We used to only have large loads of laundry and used the giant pods, but they're too big for our smaller loads. The liquid detergent is perfect for right-sizing the amount of detergent to a load while still getting a perfect clean each time.
